The Local Area
Shoreham-by-Sea, is a historic town with a centre which reflects the architecture of its fishing history.
There are old cottages, houses and some beautiful churches. Yet the town is vibrant and there are some stunning new developments along its riverside and harbour front. It is a unique area with the natural features of its tidal river, an active harbour and commercial port.
There are some individual shops, a variety of bars and restaurants and an award winning monthly Farmers’ market.
Shoreham-by-Sea is in the Adur District of West Sussex; it is bordered by the South Downs (to the north), by the Adur valley (to the west) and by the River Adur, its estuary and Shoreham Beach on the English Channel. The town lies between the city of Brighton & Hove and the town of Worthing.
